4x Development Assessment – Student Planners
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Planning student who is considering a career in local government. This temporary role with the primary function of Development Assessment and associated customer service is for a period of up to 12 months and is aimed at a university student nearing their final year of study. You will have excellent academic results and be able to work as part of a team. You will also have highly developed communication, interpersonal, problem solving, planning and time management skills
1x Traffic & Transport – Student Traffic Engineer
The Traffic & Transport Team provides professional and technical advice and guidance on traffic, transport and parking matters to the organisation and external customers (public, developers, consultants etc.) to achieve positive outcomes. In accordance with legislation, this Team obtains approvals for the installation of traffic facilities through the Local Traffic Committee process, and assesses and approves specific applications in accordance with relevant Acts (eg. Roads Act, Section 138 – Works on Roads).
The student Traffic Engineer will need to demonstrate their ability to utilise AutoCAD with MS Office as the student Engineer has to use AutoCAD for preparing concept plans.
1x Technical Specialists – Student Civil Engineer
The Student Engineer position is aimed at civil engineering students only. The position will assist in the provision of development application engineering advice and assessment of engineering plans including storm water management plans that include on-site water detention (OSD) systems and water sensitive urban design (WSUD) components.
This is a temporary (up to 18 months) part-time role (usually 21 hours per week over 3 days) aimed at University, TAFE (or equivalent) students who are nearing their final year of study.
You will have excellent academic results and be able to work as part of a team. You will also have highly developed communication, interpersonal, problem solving, planning and time management skills.
