The Strategic Accounts Manager will be responsible for project managing and coordinating local and regional teams to ensure all large scale genomics initiatives (large government funded initiatives that aim to bring genomics into healthcare at a large or national scale) follow the same framework and there is consistency in the offering. The project manager will work cross functionally to align strategy and operational imperatives, document and provide a single point of contact for review, assessment and execution of these projects.
Project manage, align strategy, communication and enablement of large-scale initiatives and assigned partnerships, ensuring Illumina approach these in a consistent and efficient way
Leverage internal relationships within the region and globally to reach sales goals for large scale initiatives
Lead strategy in LSGI projects for the ANZ region, forming strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization (i.e. business development/market development/product development)
Communicate the needs of large-scale initiatives from both internal and customer requirements providing a channel to product marketing and R&D
Develop high-value, long-term profitable customer accounts through relationship building and partnership
Stratify new initiatives based on volume, market and potential
Act as a central communication point to ensure information flow on all aspects of the business relationship is efficient, effective, and deployed appropriately
Ensure that all cross functional deliverables are provided on time and ensure infrastructure and compliance meet our operational imperatives.
Responsible for maintaining on a quarterly cadence, in line with forecasting schedule, financial targets and updates and communication of these updates to all stakeholders.
Develop and maintain relationships at multilevel in the Project from Lab Manager to CEO, including government engagement when required

Excellent understanding of bioinformatics/genomics, sequence analysis or related disciplines.
Experience in managing projects, functions, resources and/or teams.
Experience with common software toolkits for Next Generation Sequencing analysis and demonstrated understanding of commonly-used informatics tools and programs, especially in large scale genomics.
Experience in forming deep customer relationships with a demonstrated superior problem solving and interpersonal skills in a customer facing environment.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills.
Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
Experience in a direct sales role desirable but not essential
