Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Staff Specialist to join our team at The Canterbury Hospital.

We are looking for a Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology! The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality clinical management, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G), and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.

The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and, where required, the encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

The O&G Department at Canterbury Hospital is a busy service, providing maternity and gynaecological care to women from culturally diverse backgrounds from the local community/population. The Department provides inpatient, outpatient and consultation services in gynaecology, antenatal care and obstetrics for patients of gestation 34 weeks and above. The Department is well supported by a Paediatrics Department for neonatal care. The staff specialist is expected to have a strong interest in obstetrics and be prepared to participate in an obstetrics on-call roster.

The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG), or equivalent.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
