As Australia’s only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for 150 years. The Eye and Ear has almost 60 different outpatient clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of vision and hearing loss and provides a 24 hour emergency eye and ear, nose, and throat service. Every year the Eye and Ear cares for over 220,000 patients, with over 160,000 outpatients nearly 44,000 emergency patients and over 17,000 inpatients. The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment to create a modern internal structure, improve access for patients and visitors and staff.

About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Security Officer to work within the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital Security Team in a 76 hour fortnight permanentrole. The role will work across two sites being our main site and also Eye and Ear on the Park. Availability to work across a 24/7 roster of all shifts is essential. You will have a proven track record in relationship building with customers, team work and an excellent understanding of security operations.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in securing the custody of patients in our care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to respond to emergency situations calmly, quickly and efficiently are also essential. A current security license is an essential requirement for the role.
Appointment is subject to a satisfactory police and working with children check.
