An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced secretary to join our Department of General Medicine.
The Department of General Medicine is part of the Medical Services Division. It is a large clinical unit that aims to continuously provide expert quality care to inpatients and outpatients of Austin Health. There are two dedicated general medicine wards at the Austin campus. They are large wards providing high quality acute medical care. The flow of general medicine patients through the hospital has a significant impact on overall hospital access performance. The department is organised into multiple medical teams and is staffed by Consultant Physicians in General Medicine, many of whom also have an additional subspecialty qualification. General Medicine consultants work closely with allied health personnel including Social Workers, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Nutritionists and Care Coordinators.
The Department of General Medicine has important roles in research and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and is closely affiliated with The University of Melbourne. It continues to play an integral role in the Austin’s COVID-19 response.
The department is seeking a secretary on a full time, fixde term (2 year basis) to provide essential administrative support. Full details of the role and selection criteria can be found in the position description.
