About the role
Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Sales Manager will manage a portfolio of key customers and will have responsibility for expanding existing accounts as well as gaining new business, ensuring the achievement of both volume and profit sales targets.
Key responsibilities include:
Deliver against the established sales plan including targets, budgets and performance
Understand customer needs, be the voice of the customer and orchestrate relationships between Pacific National and customers
Understand customer key decision making criteria, metrics, market and competitors
Ensure customer insights are incorporated into product line strategies and customer solutions
Develop and deliver proactive solutions for customers that drive added value and profitability for Pacific National and the customer
Seek and pursue new leads and opportunities for Pacific National
Identify opportunities for value-add within customer contracts
Lead and conduct negotiations within authority limits
Define and establish relationships with key customer-side decision makers, stakeholders and influencers, often at C-Suite level
Expand Pacific National business with new products and solutions
The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:
Demonstrated proven experience in sales and key account management in large, complex organisations
Strong experience in direct customer contact and negotiation
Experience in construction, infrastructure or mineral industries will be highly regarded
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and question
Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships with customers
Ability to negotiate and follow-through on client contracts
Proven planning skills, and experience working towards measurable sales targets
Excellent planning and time-management skills
Natural agility to make effective decisions
Experience working in cross functional team environment
