Restaurant Supervisor – TARONGA ZOO

Epicure at Taronga is proudly the catering partner at Taronga Zoo Sydney.

Due to internal promotions and the increase in demand we are recruiting a competent Restaurant Supervisor, for the recent award 2 Chef Hat restaurant Me-Gal at the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga. If you are experienced and ready to hit the ground running we want to hear from you.

Me-Gal restaurant is open exclusively for the in-house guests of the 62 room Wildlife Retreat at Taronga. Take part in this unique opportunity at one of Sydney’s most iconic venues to provide an exceptional fine dining experience and continuously exceed guest expectations.

About the role

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, your responsibilities include;

Management of all Restaurant aspects and coordination of daily operations
Assisting in Recruit, train, supervise, and manage direct reporting staff and casuals
Assisting in wine menu creation with supplier negotiations
Work with the Executive Chef in wine pairing and menu creation
Provide a unique experience with exceptional customer service/client focus, and exceed guest expectations at every point of contact
Ensuring the restaurant meets with the highest compliance stands
Pro-active and efficient service delivery anticipating and accommodating client needs
Assisting with Budget management, drive revenue, and upsell products

Skills and experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in fine dining. Previous experience in a hatted restaurant is desirable
Excellent leadership skill set and experience in rostering and people development
In-depth knowledge of wine with the ability to create wine lists, provide exceptional service, and host wine events.
Passionate about the Food and Beverage industry and providing excellent customer service at every point of contact
Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multi-task
