About Us

The Australian Institute of Music (AIM) is a 50 year-old cultural institution seeking to be a Centre of Excellence for music and music education to a wide range of individuals and communities in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. AIM is a specialised, independent Higher Education Provider. AIM offers a range of externally accredited foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Music and related fields at various Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) levels.

The Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Receptionist is dedicated to providing friendly and efficient service to a wide range of stakeholders. Our reception team is the first point of contact for many visitors and they play a critical role in supporting the smooth running of the campus.

This role is offered in casual capacity. Flexibility of hours is required as reception staff are required to work a combination of day shifts, evening shifts as well as events.

Your Key Responsibilities

Provide professional, friendly service to students, staff and guests
Ensure the campus is safe and secure – only admitting authorised guests
Respond in a timely manner to enquiries – either face to face, phone or email
Provide support for campus events
Facilitate room bookings and maintaining the booking system
Encourage collaboration and feedback across the institute to inform continuous improvement
Liaise with relevant industry and regulatory authorities to stay up-to-date with industry developments
Provide administrative support for AIM events
Provide additional support to the operations team as required
Contribute to the achievement of organisational goals and strategic plans

Your Experience

Demonstrated previous experience in a similar role
Excellent customer service skills
Exceptional communication skills
Thorough understanding of the challenges and needs facing students
Strong individual and team-based collaboration in the achievement of goals
Able to work under tight deadlines with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate preferred but not essential
