Our Ingleburn factory in Sydney is a new facility which processes salmon and ocean trout value added products for distribution across all of Australia.
Reporting to the QA Coordinator, you will provide daily assistance in the running of the quality assurance department testing, monitoring and verification activities along with maintenance of the Quality Management System. At the same time, the QA Officer will be providing training, guidance and direction to production with quality and food safety related issues.
With a proven track record in a similar role, you will have a thorough understanding of Quality Assurance in a food processing environment alongside competent computer skills. You will have experience in Quality Management Systems and be an excellent communicator with a strong eye for detail. You will have proven capability in internal food safety and quality audits, record maintenance and document management. You will also assist in the preparation and compliance for external third party food safety and quality audits and system reviews. Your ability to deliver effective training to processing staff on a regular basis will help set the standard for the quality culture on site. Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline are desirable but not essential.
It is an inherent requirement of this position that work be performed safely whilst upholding Huon’s Values. The appointed person must be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Knowledge of work health and safety regulations is preferred.
