The Fairer Victoria Group at the Department of Premier and Cabinet brings together the portfolios of Multicultural Affairs, Women’s, Youth, Veterans and Equality portfolios, with a view to elevating consideration of these key groups to the centre of government. We work with other government departments, the private sector and communities to give whole of Victoria Government prominence to improving outcomes for diverse cohorts. Multicultural Affairs has two branches: Communications and Partnerships, and Inclusion and Reform, as well as a newly established Multicultural Coronavirus Response Team to support the operations and activities of the CALD Communities Taskforce.
We have an exciting Project and Program Officer opportunity within the Multicultural Affairs – Inclusion and Reform branch at the VPSG3 level. The Inclusion and Reform branch works in partnership with Victoria’s diverse multicultural communities, bringing together key policy functions and programs. We strive to promote and celebrate our multicultural strengths and drive the Victorian Government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaged and harmonious Victoria.
The Inclusion and Reform branch works in close partnerships with the Office of the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
About the role:
Victoria is proudly multicultural; this role presents an exciting opportunity for an innovative and driven individual to manage a range of projects and programs that support service access and responsiveness for people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Under direction, you will update and maintain department systems to support grants, briefing, file management and other processes. You will meet with external stakeholders, prepare reports and briefing papers and prepare branch correspondence.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience working across systems including grants, briefing, filing and project management systems and have sound knowledge of government processes, policies and procedures. The Project and Program Officer will have proven experience in providing project and program support in a fast-paced environment and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
