Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a Pharmacy Assistant (Grade 1/2) 12 month contract to join the pharmacy department at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) working Monday to Friday with the option to work weekends when required.

As a Pharmacy Assistant (Grade 1/2) you be responsible for supplying inpatient wards with imprest items and restocking the automated dispensing cabinets, providing dispensing services within the inpatient dispensary and outpatient dispensary. RNSH also has a production unit and clinical trial service.

Training is provided to assist in developing your career with us. Formal and informal learning opportunities exist within RNSH and the local health district.

What you’ll be doing

The Pharmacy Assistant will provide technical support to the Pharmacy Department in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, production, clinical and distribution activities.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent (Technician grades only)
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (technical grades only).
Computer literacy, including ability to use MS Office applications.
Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
Demonstrated experience with customer service.
