As a People Advisor, you will be responsible for delivering high quality, professional, and sound advice to Leaders and staff on people and employment matters. In this role, you will impact our business by using your expertise in talent management, performance management, career development, employee engagement, and workforce planning. As a trusted advisor to our business, you will support the daily needs of our team and think holistically about how we focus on inclusive practices and continuously improve engagement within the firm.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
Coach, counsel and provide sound guidance to supervisors and leadership on performance management, employee development, and employee engagement matters
Provide advisory support to managers to help them optimally deliver feedback, have development conversations, and manage overall performance
Support and participate in the delivery of annual activities such as performance appraisals, promotions, and salary review process
Conduct exit interviews as needed in partnership with the People Services team
Collaborate with colleagues in the Centers of Expertise to deliver seamless client service
Utilize People analytics to inform partners of trends that impact the business and develop forward-thinking solutions
Lead and support employee wellbeing and contribute towards a healthy work culture that enhances Arup’s people experience
Be an active member and/or lead People Team projects independently or in a team as part of your growth and development
Support and/or drive programs that integrate Equity, Diversity & Inclusion into all aspects of our people strategy
Work closely with People Business Partners to ensure appropriate escalation and awareness of complex or high-risk people issues within the business

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Relevant HR generalist and/or related experience with a specific depth of experience in relationship-focused advising roles
4 or more years of progressive HR experience and a minimum of 2 years as a generalist is preferred
Proven understanding of policies, practices, and employment and employee relations frameworks and the ability to use sound judgment and discretion in their application
Successful record of building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients and ability to reach agreements that balance the goals and interests of leaders, staff, and Arup
Ability to build relationships across geographies quickly both face to face and virtually (over the phone, Microsoft Teams, etc)
Strong service and outcomes orientation with a demonstrated desire to go above and beyond
Excellent written and verbal communications skills – ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
