St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is part of St Vincent’s Health Australia and a leading teaching, research and tertiary health service which employs more than 6,500 staff across 18 sites throughout Melbourne. SVHM provides a diverse range of adult clinical services including acute medical and surgical services, sub-acute care, medical diagnostics, rehabilitation, allied health, mental health, palliative care, correctional health and community residential care. SVHM is one of Australia’s leading Catholic not-for-profit healthcare providers.
Specialist clinics provide over 90,000 non admitted patient appointments per year across 20 different medical and surgical specialties, and receive 26,000 new referrals per annum. Specialist clinics provide a gateway to the hospital for patients requiring elective surgery and ongoing chronic disease management. Our major referral base is via General Practitioners from all areas of Victoria. This is a fast paced environment where teamwork is essential.
About the Role
The Patient Services Clerk’s (PSCs) role is to provide efficient and effective administrative and reception support to all of the Specialist Clinics at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM).
Classification for this position will be a HS1 + casual loading ($58,442.80).
Promptly attend to patients registering for clinics in a courteous and friendly manner
Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders (patients, their families and staff of SVHM) at all times
Attend to incoming telephone enquires from patients and GP’s in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner
Assist with the management of the referrals for Specialist Clinics in accordance with the SVHM policy
Attend to Medicare billing in a prompt and accurate way
