Payroll Officer required to work 5-6 days per fortnight for organisation near Melbourne CBD. Commencing late November.

The Company

The organisation are a reputable non-profit organisation based near the city. This role will be almost all working from home in 2020 and full training and support will be provided. The company have around 130 staff on the payroll + casuals and you will be part of a finance team comprising of 6 employees. It’s a very friendly and supportive working environment.

The Role
This is a part time position which involves working 5-6 days per fortnight (ideally across Monday-Wednesday each week). The role is initially for 4 months but is then likely to transition towards a permanent placement.
We expect interviews to take place later in the week beginning the 16 th of November with the successful applicant commencing late in November
The job itself is payroll focused. Some typical duties will involve:
Processing payroll for 130 employees plus casuals
Entering new starters and terminations
Interpretation of 2 different EBA’s
Using excel to manipulate timesheet and data mapping information
Managing the busy and complex fortnightly payroll
Relevant end of month payroll reporting work
Use of Sage Micropay system
This is a stand alone, end to end payroll position.

Your Profile
You will have a background in Payroll with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position. The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:
Experience with Australian payroll awards and legislation
Experience using excel to manipulate payroll data
A genuine desire to work part time hours
Ability to start immediately if successful
Excellent communication skills
Exposure to Sage Micropay is useful but not essential
