The ‘North Shore Eye Surgery’ in St Leonards, Sydney, is recruiting an experienced medical secretary to join its Ophthalmology practice on a permanent part-time basis, either for 4 days a week or 2 days/week in a job-share position, Monday to Thursday, 8:30am-5pm. Flexibility is essential in the job-share position as it requires relieving the other staff who may be on leave.
This role is interesting and varied requiring the person to work as part of a small, professional team dedicated to delivering excellent patient care. The successful candidate will be confident, caring & friendly, with excellent people skills & a good telephone manner. Your responsibilities will include: meeting & greeting patients; scheduling & confirming patient appointments; managing patient payments; invoicing; processing Medicare & DVA payments online; dealing with enquiries from patients, doctors, & other health professionals; end of day banking & reconciliation; accurate typing of medical reports; maintaining clinical records with stringent patient confidentiality at all times; booking operating lists; ordering office supplies.
Essential Criteria are: excellent computer skills & literacy; excellent time management & organisational skills; must demonstrate initiative & a high level of attention to detail; able to work autonomously as well as part of a team; a respectful & courteous manner.
