We are looking for a local Medical Receptionist with at least 3-6 months of experience, experience in a GP setting would be advantageous. This position will be mostly 25-30 hrs /week ,alternate saturdays or filling in during the week for sick/annual leave. We are offering this position as a casual part time role.Ideal for someone who wishes to pursue this as a future career with possibility of more hours for the right candidate.

Working in a team of receptionists supporting up to 2GP’s on any given day, physio, nurses and other allied health providers.
This suits someone who:
· Can work in a fast paced environment with phones ringing, patients at the desk, doctors needing support.
· Is able to handle stressful situations.
· Has great computer skills as the role is 100% computer based.
· Smiles – great customer service.

About the position:

Responsibilities:

Experience in the following duties would be advantageous:
Greeting patients with a high level of customer service.
Function in a highly organised and time efficient manner at all times.
Answer the telephone promptly and courteously, registering patients, booking appointments and assisting patients with enquiries.
Collecting and processing payments, issue patient invoices/receipts and bulk bill as required. (Bp experience highly regarded).
Medicare claiming, DVA and inpatient accounts.
Calling patient for results and booking with doctors accordingly.
Scanning/Faxing as well as placing orders for supplies as required.
Maintain stationary and clinic supplies
Sending and receiving correspondence on behalf of the practice and health professionals within the practice
Providing cover for planned/sick leave.
General Duties
Assist doctors and nurses by making telephone calls, photocopying, etc., as requested and required.
Open and close the clinic.
Maintain reception area in a tidy and welcoming manner.

Monitor waiting room to ensure patients are comfortable and inform of wait times
Maintain a well organised, clean, efficient and confidential work space
Maintain cleanliness of the practice
Attend to end of day routine cleaning and stock requirements and ensure all furniture and equipment is clean and tidy.

Submitting insurance claim

Experience:

Medical Receptionist: 3-6months (Preferred)
Location:
Sutherlandshire and nearby areas (Preferred)
Work Eligibility:
Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (e.g. citizen, permanent resident) (Preferred)
Key selection criteria;
Prior experience in medical practice is preferred
Well-developed understanding and experience with Medicare and Private billing and processing payments for private insurance cards.
Assisting management with administrative and practice maintenance matters as required including bookkeeping tasks
Excellent people skills and ability to work in a team or alone
Previous experience using Best Practice is preferred.
An aptitude for fast learning
Ability to multi-task and work under pressur
Punctual, organised and committed.
Excellent communication skills, well spoken, with good phone mannerism
Genuine desire to assist our patients, staff and General Practitioners
Possess a strong work ethic and reliability
Good computer skills, including word and excel Undertaking filing, mailing and word processing tasks (we use Best Parctice software .)
Managing social media sites for the practice.
Fluent English speaking
On occasion be able to cover shifts for personal or annual leave.
