NSW Treasury is the NSW Government’s principal financial and economic adviser. It provides the Government and the rest of the sector with high quality advice, excellence in delivery, and strong and transparent risk management. Preparation, delivery and monitoring of the State Budget is a significant component of Treasury’s work.
The NSW Small Business Commissioner plays an important role in advocating on behalf of the 765,000+ small businesses of NSW. Additionally, the Commissioner oversees dispute resolution for retail tenancy disputes and mediation services for small businesses.
Manage a high volume of matters arising from mediation applications. Applies mediation principles in managing matters, including referral to external panel mediators and other dispute resolution practitioners.
Provide high level customer service in relation to information and guidance for customer inquiries relating to the Retail Leases Act 1994 and other commercial leasing and small business matters.
Key Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated ability to skilfully apply techniques and processes used in mediation and dispute resolution and prevention.
Skilled at reading and understanding legislation and court or tribunal decisions.
NMAS training is preferred, or willingness to progress to NMAS accreditation.
Mediation experience is preferred.
To be eligible to apply for ongoing employment within the NSW Treasury, candidates must be an Australian citizen or have the status of permanent residence in Australia.
