The Community & Consumer team has end to end accountability for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer and community requirements – from market research, marketing planning to brand positioning and product placement. We’re also strategically oversee advertising, promotional activities and understanding and influencing community and public relationships.
The Retail and Experience team sits with our Community & Consumer Marketing team within the broader Marketing community at Australia Post. As a team we are responsible for delivering a profitable and catalogue program, driving growth in our Online Shop and ensuring we are Brand ambassadors in our Retail environment. This is the day to day but over and above we also manage retail focused product launches, retail lead seasonal campaign work and innovative new projects to enhance the customer experience. What does the role involve?
The purpose of the position is to work within the Chief Marketing Office to provide leadership support in the development, delivery and implementation of strategic marketing programs within our Retail environment and champion best practice marketing principles and processes throughout the organisation.
This role is responsible for contribution to the success of our Retail and Experience team and will be responsible for providing centralised marketing expertise including Enterprise go to market planning, developing & launching Retail campaigns, Retail marketing programs, provision of leading integrated end to end campaign management, KPI focused activity and continually injecting creativity and innovation into our programs of works.
With 4,330 post offices, we have the nation’s most extensive retail footprint – and 2,520 of these offices are in regional Australia. We are pursuing growth in our Retail space and are committed to building on our success to date, just receiving the Silver Shop! Award and People’s Choice Award for our work in-store at Christmas. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned marketer looking to make an impact whilst with a brand that has a connection with every Australian.
What are the key responsibilities?
Develop the annual marketing calendar for Retail products and Online Shop
Deliver marketing activities aligned to the Marketing Calendar within given budget and on time
Have a strong commercial acumen to understand daily sales and forecasts
Have a strong understanding of the digital landscape, particular in paid
Lead and develop a team in line with our company and team values and to end to end management for all campaigns
Multitask and juggle priorities to ensure we are delivering beyond what is expected
Maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders including key suppliers and internal representatives to ensure they invested in our success
6 + years of experience in marketing with prior experience in the retail landscape is preferred (can be mix of corporate & agency)
Campaign strategy development, with experience in B2C marketing preferred
Proven wins in the digital space
Demonstrated marketing planning experience
Proven track record of delivering and managing marketing plans, preferably in a large, complex organisation
Highly developed commercial skills
Demonstrated ability to deliver proof of concept programmes
Strong people leader who can continue to develop our high performing
