Legal Assistant – Environment & Planning (Part-Time, 3 days, 6 month fixed term contract)

The role

An exciting opportunity exists in our Environment & Planning Practice for a part time Legal Assistant. As the successful candidate, you will provide vital support to our high performing team and will contribute to our success as a leading professional services firm.

This is a part-time role, working 3 days per week on a 6 month fixed term contract.

As a key addition to this team, some of your responsibilities will include:

Managing files (both electronic and hard copy);
Diary management and organisation of authors;
Complying with client reporting requirements;
Monitoring emails and taking telephone calls;
Document management ie. editing of legal documents including mark ups and cross referencing;
Travel arrangements (including both international and domestic);
Assisting in maintaining client databases;
Drafting correspondence, document preparation and amendments;
Reconciling expenses;
Monthly billing in accordance with client requirements;
Extensive accounting, editing and administration, responding to client accounting requests,
Debt collection; and
Coordinating meetings internal and external.

What you need

This would be a fantastic career development opportunity for an experienced high performing secretary with solid experience in a corporate law firm environment.

Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills;
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
The ability to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels;
Advanced MS Word skills, including document creation and presentation;
An understanding of MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and other software;
A demonstrated commitment to internal and external service standards; and
An adaptable and flexible nature.
