PERSOLKELLY are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join our client’s team – global FMCG company.

Reporting to the Laboratory Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate sampling and testing of our products.

You must have a strong focus on quality and safety and be able to work as part of an effective team. You will display an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving and be dedication to getting it right first time.

Key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Sampling, preparation, testing (microbiological and chemical) of in-process samples, raw materials, environmental testing etc. from the manufacturing plant.
Chemical and bacteriological analyses of in-line, finished product and raw materials.
Ensure prompt and accurate test results are communicated to internal and external customers, both in writing and verbally.
Ensuring the provision of an efficient and reliable testing service in accordance with approved methods.
Ensuring lab equipment is operated, maintained and calibrated at the correct frequencies and performing troubleshooting as required.
Conduct GMP and internal audits to support the Quality team
Periodically review laboratory performance against a defined set of measures. They shall be based on but not limited to, calibration and testing accuracy, result traceability, customer service, budget compliance and continuous improvement incorporating corrective and preventative action.
Maintain work area to meet housekeeping and safety standards at all times.
Receive, check and store all consumables for the laboratory and undertake other duties as required.

To be successful in this position, you will have:
Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar.
Previous experience in a laboratory/testing supporting a food manufacturing operations.
A working knowledge of HACCP and OH&S.
Previous experience in Membrane Filtration and Asceptic technique.
Previous experience in water sampling and testing technique is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Advanced computer skills, data trend analysis and report writing capabilities.
