Cowen Inc. is looking to hire a Junior Compensation Accountant to work in the Human Resources Department. The ideal candidate will have an accounting education background, experience with excel and basic formulas, and strong analytical skills.
Journal Entries – Book monthly journal entries as it relates to company’s compensation components. This includes accruals and expense allocations.
Account Reconciliations – Perform monthly accounting reconciliations for both balance sheet and expense accounts.
Workpapers – Maintain accurate accounting workpapers for all entries and processes.
Audit Requests – Respond to internal and external auditors on quarterly and annual request.
Management Reporting – Update and maintain monthly management reporting.
Work closely with Accounting Department on monthly procedures.
Bachelor’s degree, Accounting focused preferred
Organized, self-motivated, detail and deadline oriented
Proven ability to work well on teams, showing initiative, a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard.
Willingness to learn other functions and be involved with projects that may be outside of current role.
