About the Job

The primary role is to design and deliver a HR agenda that supports the delivery of ambitious growth plans.As an experienced and versatile HR generalist, this role will provide both operational and strategic support to the CEO and leadership team, building capability across all areas of people management.

As the stand-alone HR expert, you will need to flex between designing forward thinking, strategic solutions whilst being able to swiftly resolve various reactive people issues as they arise. This role will deliver high impact HR initiatives, enhance employee morale, promote good people practices and contribute to the already positive culture within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
Management of talent acquisition including hiring, on boarding and building capability of hiring managers (primary focus for initial 6 months)
Design and implementation of a contemporary performance management & development program
Development and implementation of a compensation and benefits program
Partner with the CEO to drive a change management program across the organisation including contribution to design of strategy days, communication and engagements programs
Lead the Culture Taskforce in the design and delivery of a workplace culture program
Day-to-day guidance to line managers including coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs, evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success

About You:

Aside from excellent communication skills, ability to manage priorities, work autonomously and accountably, with outstanding problem-solving skills, as well as part of a wider team and the requirement to fit the cultural profile of our client, you’ll also bring to us:

8+ years of experience in a HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisory role
Bachelor’s degree in business or diploma in Human Resources or a related field
Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Retail Award and other relevant employment law
Experience in a dynamic environment, start-up experience would be highly favourable
Demonstrated ability in coaching and influencing leaders
Ability to think creatively and willingness to respectfully challenge business leaders on traditional approaches
Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate insights inform business decision making
Strong time management and organisational skills and attention to detail
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Digitally savvy with an ability to quickly learn new HR technology
