We are seeking a General Manager with enthusiasm and drive to lead a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of services and projects that serve the needs of the local community. The successful applicant will have the ability to engage and inspire people to deliver the expected outcomes for Council and the Community. Your well-developed interpersonal skills and political astuteness will enable you to work collaboratively and have a positive influence with Council and the organisation as a whole.
To be effective in this role, you will be expected to have:
Extensive leadership experience at the executive level
Demonstrated experience in people, operational, financial and risk management
Demonstrated experience in, and a sound understanding of, the provision of facilities and services to the local community
Business acumen and sound judgement
Sound understanding of the current social, political and economic issues facing local government
A sound understanding of the legal framework under which a local government authority operates
Appropriate tertiary qualifications
A competitive performance-based package will be negotiated.
