ABOUT THIS ROLE

Due to an extended period of growth, our client require a hands on General Manager to build and lead a new division of their business. In conjunction with the Managing Director, this position will oversee all strategic, commercial and operational aspects designed to ensure sustainable growth. The initial phase of this exciting role will be largely operational, focusing on project managing the building of its manufacturing plant.

DUTIES

Keep informed of new developments and market intelligence, developing channels to market and updating the sales plan in line with company objectives and strategy;
Recommend markets, product ranges and respective sales volume objectives, determining and recommending distribution channels;
Manage and update the sales plan in addition to the revenue and expense budgets;
Plan, budget and implement major property and capital equipment programs as necessary, to meet the business’s development needs;
Maintain appropriate levels of contact with all customers, developing customer communication and relations programs;
Co-ordinate with other divisions such as Marketing, Operations and Finance of the Company effectively to ensure best practice;
Develop relationships with vendors and investigate sources of equipment and services, evaluating the costs and quality of their services;
Provide strategic national input to the business, via formal and informal means, including regular meetings, teleconferences and conversations; and
Provide regular reporting and analysis of appropriate metrics; produce management reports as necessary, including quarterly review documents, weekly and period business indicators, budget documents, corporate plan documents and any other ad-hoc reports as requested. SKILLS & EXPERTISE

Possessing a tertiary qualifications in Business and/or Engineering discipline is highly regarded but not essential;
Proven ability to build and manage a successful sales team;
Extensive operational and financial management experience with sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals and objectives;
Solid understanding of performance analysis and troubleshooting process related problems;
Possess sound problem resolution, judgment and decision-making skills, in addition to be able to manage a budget effectively;
Have solid project management and leadership capabilities;
Have strong analytical, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills;
