About the role

The Event Marketing & Promotions Advisor is the champion and custodian of the City’s Major Events & Festivals marketing, promotions and communication strategy, campaigns and initiatives.

This position is responsible for cross functionally designing, coordinating, and delivering strategic Events & Festivals marketing, promotions and communications for the region that actively reach and target identified market segments to increase awareness of and attendance to City of Parramatta Council owned and partner events held in the Local Government Area (LGA) and broaden people’s awareness of Parramatta as a premiere event destination.

About the person

The Events Marketing & Promotions Advisor is a driven individual with the proven experience to develop and drive marketing initiatives designed to position Parramatta as an exciting destination for Events & Festivals, and will possess exceptional project management skills and experience. This position is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering strategic visitor marketing, promotions and communications for the region that actively reach and target identified market segments to increase Events & Festivals online and physical attendance and contribute to building positive perceptions of Parramatta.

Commercially minded, the successful candidate will have previous experience developing and delivering strategic marketing and communications for large scale Events and Festivals. The candidate will have significant experience in both digital marketing and traditional marketing, which has been honed for a minimum of 7 years, to promote and leverage the offer; whilst identifying and creating opportunities to drive visitation to Parramatta and its neighbourhoods.

This role is also responsible for working cross-functionally with internal and external partners, collecting and analysing data and trends to create insight-led marketing initiatives and project manage the delivery of end-to-end marketing campaigns.

Proven experience in changing perceptions, executing experiential marketing experiences and creating and leveraging user-generated content will be looked upon favourably.

We are offering a 12-month temporary full time maternity leave cover with an attractive salary from $ 111,970.12 p.a. plus Super. City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits, which can be accessed by the successful candidate.
