Digital Officer – VPS 5 Fixed-Term to June 2022

The Jobs and Skills Exchange at the Victorian Public Sector Commission is an internal hiring and skills development initiative that provides Victorian Public Service (VPS) employees with unprecedented visibility and priority access to all employment opportunities and supports individual career development. Some initiatives also engage the boarder public sector workforce. The JSE enables an efficient, fair and high-quality Public Service by expanding career and development opportunities for our employees.

The Digital Officer is responsible for assisting in building out the new iteration of the Jobs and Skills Exchange digital platform, taking into account both the needs of our 34,000-strong member base, as well as key internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires a deep understanding of modern digital platforms (think APIs, microservices, iterative product development), an appreciation for user-centered design and “failing quickly”, as well as excellent practical knowledge of Drupal CMS and the possibilities of a cloud-first (Azure) design and development philosophy. You’ll work in a small, dynamic, and cross-functional team, and work closely with data/analytics and communications professionals.
