What you’ll be doing
The primary responsibility of the Dental Assistant, Radiography is to provide expert clinical assistance in the University General Practice Department (or as otherwise directed), including the oversight of dental and oral health therapy students undertaking intra-oral radiography and direct provision of radiography services, as permitted by EPA licensure. In addition, this position is required to provide chairside assistance to student or staff clinicians.

Qualifications: Certificate III in Dental Assisting or recognised equivalent and Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Dental Radiography)
Recent, adequate experience as a Dental Assistant in Dental Radiography, with a Certificate IV in Dental Radiography (or equivalent) and current IA20 radiation licence issued by EPA
Demonstrated ability to assist the clinician in a four-handed environment, with a variety of dental procedures including general and specialised care.
Demonstrated ability to perform effective infection control procedures in all aspects of Dental Assisting.
Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in dental charting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
The ability to work in a large, multidisciplinary team, and be able to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including fellow health care workers and the general public.
Excellent organisational, time-management and problem- solving skills
Recent and proficient experience in using dental imaging software such as Dimaxis/Romexis.
