About Us

KU Children’s Services (KU) is a leading not for profit provider of nearly 140 early childhood education and care services in NSW, VIC, the ACT and QLD. Established in 1895, KU is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected providers of long day care, preschool, outside school hours care, family programs and early intervention services. KU also operates brokered programs on behalf of the Commonwealth Government and provides professional services to the early childhood sector and the wider community.

The Role

We are currently looking for several Certificate III qualified educators to take on support contracts at a range of our centre locations. These roles are subsidised through relevant State and Federal programs to assist in the inclusion of children with additional needs within KU centres. As an additional educator, your role is above core educator ratios and you will be required to fulfil the responsibilities of a child care educator at a service.

The contracts are due to commence on the first day of Term 2 (Monday 19 April 2021) however, there will be the opportunity to access casual hours across our Services before the commencement date. There may also be the opportunities for contracts to be renewed for quarter 3 and 4.

Available opportunities:
KU Petersham Preschool (12 hours per week)

Tuesday and Wednesday, 6 hours per day

KU Peter Pan Paddington (10 hours per week)

Thursday and Friday, 5 hours per day

KU Rushcutters Bay (20 hours per week)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 5 hours per day

KU Peter Pan La Perouse (20 hours per week)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 5 hours per day

KU Phoenix, located in Balmain (14 hours per week)

Monday and Tuesday, 7 hours per day

KU John J Carroll, located in Surry Hills (15 hours per week)

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 hours per day

KU Randwick Coogee Preschool (6 hours per week)

Tuesday, 6 hours per day

KU Ultimo (18 hours per week)

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 6 hours per day

About You

To be successful for the role you will have:

  • A recognised Certificate III or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Unlimited work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
