This position will be working in our Buying team specialising in our Bedding, Accessories and Towels product offering. You will be supporting an experienced Buyer based in our South Melbourne Support Centre office. This role offers variety with a scope to further develop your business administration skills, product knowledge and a step towards a buying career with HS in the future.
Reporting to the Buyer, you will primarily be responsible for the following
Provide efficient and timely support to the team, coveringall aspects of the portfolio and administration, as well asbeing the first point of contact for queries
Work as directed driving product management, registeringnew articles and validating information from vendors.
Creating new article registration in SAP ensuringcompliance with our naming convention process.
Proactively engage with vendors & businesses toeffectively manage orders ensuring timely delivery.
Organise samples for catalogue photography.
Resolve merchandise queries raised by the DC, stores andvendors.
Liaising with Buyers on vendor compliance issues and stockavailability driving a speedy resolution.
Complete the end to end process for briefing cataloguesinto marketing, including checking proofs, handing over samplesand execution of ticketing.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has some experience and knowledge of retail Buying, thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves working within a collaborative team. Ideally you will have;
Excellent communication skills with the ability to buildeffective working relationships.
Previous Buying Assistant experience is a must
Experience within a retail environment (preferred).
Knowledge of the Buying process and retail catalogueprocess (desirable).
Proven experience in an administration support role.
Exceptional attention to detail and time managementskills.
Strong customer service focus and a professionalapproach.
Strong computer literacy, with strong skills in MS Word,Outlook and Excel.
Eager to learn, absorb information quickly and be apositive support to your team.
Previous experience in a merchandise roleworking within either Buying, Planning or ProductDesign.
Those with experience from a ‘big box’ retail environmentwill be considered highly favourable.
