DESCRIPTION

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an Associate, Prime Brokerage in New York, New York

Act as a conduit between the client coverage organization and the rest of the firm, providing support, and navigation and helping deliver tangible solutions to clients. Assist in leading the firm’s automation initiatives and focus on process efficiency, operational streamlining, creation of capacity, and management and reduction of risk across the Prime Brokerage department. Help identify and implement best practice solutions with regards to technology enhancements, product specifics, market access and operational infrastructure improvements. Highlight client and market trends and provide the latest pulse of the client base to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:
Requires seven (7) years of experience and seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or seven (7) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a related occupation. In lieu of seven (7) years of experience, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience as an Associate, Analyst, or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: appreciation of credit, market and operational risk; global markets, products, and client types; operational flows, trade breaks, cancel corrects, corporate actions and proxies;

performing pro/con analyses on new workflows in order to increase firm efficiency and client experience; in depth knowledge of industry due diligence requirements; financial regulations and their impact to both client and the firm, including Dodd Frank, EMIR, CSDR, MiFid II, Base II and AIFMD; Financial Capital, Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Environments impacting the PB and clearing business; working on automation initiatives to streamline strategic processes, creating capacity, and reduce risk; trade booking, position monitoring and trade break resolution for several execution trading desks; providing training and sharing expertise with colleagues; Outlook; Excel; Word; PowerPoint; and 3rd party vendor platforms including Markit Counterparty Manager, FIA Tech and Intralinks, and Bloomberg. Requires FINRA series 7 and series 63 licenses.
