Overview

The Role:
The Analyst – Energy Modelling & Analytics will report directly into our Manager – Analytics and be an integral part of our analytics team, providing support on a full suite of analytical services to not just the Energy Management division, but the entire business.

Key Responsibilities include:
Provide high quality analysis, models, methodologies and tools which contribute to optimising and securing the gross margin for the generation and retail asset portfolio, including forecast of generation and retail consumption;
Develop and implement innovative valuations for structured contracts relating to physical and financial commodities including gas, power, emissions and environmental products;
Provide analysis to support Business Development in identifying, evaluating and developing opportunities which fit with ENGIE’s renewable energy strategic objectives direction;
Provide analysis and tools to support the growth of the B2B customer base, as well as assist in identifying and developing new products, methodologies, business processes and systems improvement.

About You:
The successful incumbent of the role will work well as part of a team, be focused on continuous improvement and is action oriented. You will be able to manage ambiguity and make sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. You will also possess the following:

Strong technical / programming skills in SQL, Microsoft Excel and coding skills in R and Python;
Experience collecting, organising, analysing and interpreting numerical data including large data sets;
Ability to learn through experimentation when tackling new problems including coming up with new models, tools and techniques;
Tertiary qualified in relevant discipline.

Experience in the energy sector will be preferred but not essential.
