Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. Wintringham aims to provide residents with the ability to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be. Located in Flemington, McLean Lodge offers a delightful cottage setting which provides a safe and caring family-style environment for 27 residents who enjoy a connection with the outdoors.
Your new role
Wintringham is currently seeking a motivated, proactive and experienced Administration Assistant to join our residential team at our McLean Lodge hostel on a part time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an essential industry in a busy and dynamic role where no two days will be the same.
Your roster will be:
Week 1 & 2: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (0930-1530)
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
Develop and maintain the administration functions and records at the hostel including: reception, answering telephone calls and taking messages or redirecting calls, liaising with residents, hostel visitors and other service providers
Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Residential Site Manager and Care Supervisor
Updating and maintaining the hostel’s resident database
Processing of invoices to the Accounts Payable module for external services and Wintringham.
Taking responsibility for reconciling petty cash
Other duties as directed by the Site Manager

What we will need from you
In order to be considered for this role, you will have at least 2-3 years minimum of administration experience (preferably in a similar role in Aged Care/Health Care). Experience working with individuals who are/have been financially disadvantaged or homeless will be highly regarded. You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with people from varying socio-economic backgrounds. You enjoy a fast paced and busy role that is often deadline driven. Your experience and skills will be supported by the following:
An understanding of Aged Care processes
The ability to prioritise tasks
General IT skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word)
Excellent customer service skills and phone manner
A non-judgmental approach
An understanding of the special needs of older people
Applicants must disclose if they are currently working at another Residential Aged Care Facility. There are current government directed guidelines that restrict Aged Care workers from working with more than one provider.
