About the role
Our Governance & Council Support team at Woollahra Council is growing and we want you to join us! We are looking for an Access to Information Officer to join our team on a permanent part-time basis at Council Chambers, opposite the iconic Redleaf Beach in Double Bay.
Reporting to the Senior Governance Officer, your main responsibilities will be to process and determine Formal and Informal GIPA (Government Information Public Access Act) applications and carry out related research activities in relation to public access.
The rostered days will be 7 hours per day on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant experience in processing GIPA / Access to Information Applications preferably in Local Government. You will possess outstanding organisational skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

Demonstrated industry experience and/or qualification in Information, Business Administration or Records Management.
Demonstrated working experience in the review and management of all matters relating to the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.
Proven organisational and time management skills with the ability to establish priorities and manage deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing strong customer service.
Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
Awareness and commitment to the principles of Work Health & Safety (WHS) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO).
Experience in Local Government and/or knowledge of Local Government related legislation, functions and policies.
Understanding of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and relevant principles.
Previous experience in formal record keeping, including database management and use of an electronic document management systems.
