Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and in
Attention to detail;
High school diploma or GED;
Experience working as part of a team;
Demonstrated ability to coordinate a variety of work activities;
Demonstrated customer service experience in an office environment;
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with personal computer software
programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
Available and willing to work extra and/or irregular hours or days during peak work
periods to include weekends and nights.

Preferred Qualifications:
General knowledge of Texas State University and admission requirements;
Prior college admissions work experience;
College course work or degree;
Demonstrated ability to read and understand high school and college transcripts;
Experience working with reports or Microsoft Excel worksheets;
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with student information systems
software (Banner or equivalent product);
Bilingual (English-Spanish).

Job Description:
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks a Data Entry Operator (Part-Time, 30 hours per week) to support the Processing area. Responsibilities include processing applications and other documents from prospective undergraduate students to determine admission status in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.

Job Duties:
Utilize team work to process applications, transcripts, and other credentials within 2-3 days from the time received. Match admission credentials to files and update application status in the student information system (Banner). Prepare complete applications for admission decisions and make admission decisions as needed.
Explain admission policies and procedures by telephone, by email, in person, and by mail to prospective students and others. Scan, upload, and index documents.
Maintain accuracy within a productive, fast-paced environment. Participate in cross-training to learn a variety of specialized tasks. Analyze problems and processes to determine the most efficient way to resolve issues or complaints within established policies and procedures. Demonstrate leadership while representing Texas State University and Undergraduate Admissions. Assist with other activities as needed.
