
Bookkeeper – Part Time – USA Job Vacancy
OptionMetrics is seeking a Bookkeeper on a part time basis to join our NYC office. The bookkeeper will work on a full spectrum of accounting activities, including engaging with vendors and the accountant. We’re small, nimble, casual (no suits – shoes optional), and passionate about our mission and the projects we create. Since we are self-funded and profitable (no VCs!), we can afford to take the long view, emphasizing quality over expediency in all we do.
Responsibilities:
Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Use QuickBooks to write checks, prepare journal entries, and generate reports
Bank and credit card reconciliation
Cash flow management
Prepare daily bank deposits and monthly customer invoices
Assist accountant with tax records and filings
Prepare semi-monthly payroll
Work closely with CEO regarding finances
Other responsibilities as required
Requirements:
3 years + experience as a Bookkeeper
QuickBooks experience a must
Must be detail-oriented and extremely organized
Problem-solver with the ability to work independently
A working knowledge of accepted accounting practices and financial accounting standards
Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
