Accounting Intern – Fall – USA Job Vacancy
The PCAOB oversees the audits of public companies and SEC-registered brokers and dealers in order to protect investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports.
The PCAOB has an accounting intern position available, assisting the Division of Enforcement and Investigations located in its New York, NY office.
This role will provide support to the Division by assisting the Division’s attorneys and accountants with analyzing and reviewing investigative materials, preparing reports, and research and analysis of financial information related to investigations and bringing cases against registered accounting firms and their associated persons. In addition, you will assist the team on various projects on an as needed basis. You will be supervised by seasoned team members who are accountants.
Assist the attorneys and accountants in analyzing investigative materials;
Prepare reports for the Division’s attorneys and accountants based on review of investigative materials;
Review regulatory filings and analyze financial information concerning investigations; and
Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
A student at an accredited university or college majoring in Accounting;
Completed at least one semester of intermediate accounting;
Proficient with Microsoft software applications and use of the Internet;
Able to organize and meet deadlines;
A willingness to work as both as a team member and independently;
Proficiency in another language is a plus.
